I understand your defensiveness. But to be fair, I don't think he was being negative, but simply making an observation. Let's look at this from the perspective of a stutterer. I think that most people would agree that the goal of /r/stutterer is primarily to serve as a support community for stutterers, with raising awareness of it maybe being a second goal. In that case, bacon_alarm_clock makes a good point. I've seen a handful of posts on here dedicated to 'surveys' or 'experiments'. To the cynical observer, it seems that some people are just glad they found a single place they can easily get subjects from. That's likely where bacon was coming from and I don't blame him at all, as I was thinking the same thing when I saw the title of this post. This said, I don't mean to undermine what you're doing and commend you for wanting to contribute to spreading awareness in some way.
