I'd like to come at this with some humor, in the movie The Big Lebowski, Walter says "if you will it, it is no dream" i love this quote for many reasons, but mostly because it shows the openness of the mind. We all treat our impediments as just that, they impede our speech, an uncontrollable force that limits our possibilities. I had an epiphany this morning that I put too much weight on my speech, it weighs me down and that's my fault. I let the bad times get to me which exacerbates the hesitation and thus the impediment. I wasn't always like this, I was more open and fluent in like elementary school and that was because of my outlook. I think once I transitioned ,ostensibly, to the "real world", a certain trepidation took over me. I saw the scope of the world and saw my place in it, which heightened these feelings of inadequacy and helplessness. It's all in your outlook and I wanna make a conscious effort to change that. Thanks for the honest reply man, I hope you can seek some solace in my reply.
