I don’t agree with you about several of the points you made! I like the idea of carrying around a note card, how she attempted to be accommodating, etc… however, making assumptions on someone’s abilities and exhibiting this behavior is not acceptable. Even if it was with good intentions. I’ve never been treated like this even as someone with a severe stutter. Again, I feel like this could be a valuable learning opportunity to that entire office so this situation can be handled better next time. It clearly put OP into a bit of distress. It would for me, too.
