advice for motor tics when stuttering? hello! i'm new to this subreddit, and was wondering if anyone had any tips on dealing with motor tics caused by stuttering? i'm 19 and have been stuttering for as long as i can remember. i've been in speech therapy for a good chunk of my life, and while that did help me understand my stutter more, i have never gotten a grasp on my tics i frequently find myself shrugging my shoulders violently, jerking my head, grimacing, or some other movement that's accompanied by my stutter. these tend to be really painful and leave me feeling sore for a while after i don't really consider myself embarrassed by the tics anymore... i'm just worried about straining my muscles or causing some kind of harm if anyone has any tips on how to mitigate these symptoms, i'd really appreciate it!!! thank you!!!
