Wedding Speech Just wanted to say that public speaking is not lost on us! I recently was tasked with giving a best man speech at my friend’s wedding. I was nervous as shit and was honestly contemplating turning it down because I was nervous about stuttering/public speaking. But I forced myself to go through with it. I practiced probably every day for a solid 3 months in front of my wife and by myself. When it came to the day the speech was almost muscle memory, I just had to overcome the nerves. Once I finished it felt as if I blacked out and forgot every word I said. Everyone who came up to me said they loved it and thought it was very funny and genuine! As someone who stutters and hates public speaking in general, I hope this serves as one story of inspiration for others to do the same. I feel ashamed that I even had to think about not being my friend’s best man because I was so afraid of giving a speech.
