It's not necessarily true that OP was placed in special ed classes becasue they are a person who stutters with a leanring disiabilty. I was placed in special ed classes as a child simply because the school system didn't have a dedicated speech therapist but knew they had to accommodate me. To justify budgeting money to hire a speech therapist, I was taken out of regular class twice a week and stuck in a room by myself for a hour where I played Oregon Trail or read. This happened from 3rd to about 7th grade at two separate schools. When a speech therapist was hired, I stopped playing video games for a class period and underwent speech therapy instead. I was never told by any of my teachers, speech therapists, or my parnets that I had/have a learning disability, just a speech impediment. *edited to add a missing "I"
