Not me but my professor! Hi everyone :) Just wanted you to know you guys are all inspirational. Seriously. I don’t think stuttering is something that people are fully aware of and it’s something that people have a lot of misconceptions about. All I want to say is you guys work SO hard, and I wish more people recognized that. You are all brilliant too! So far, I’ve met two people who have a stutter, and they were extremely smart. Just wanted to share this story because it’s inspiring. You can do anything you set your mind to and don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t. I go to law school and one of my professors from last semester had a stutter. He went to a top 3 school (it was either Harvard/Yale/Stanford) and straight taught law for 30 years, lecturing every day in front of students like me. He just retired. In class, sure he would stammer often. In fact it happened especially when he was really excited about a concept and he would stutter. Did some of the kids laugh? Not to his face, but after class, yeah (it’s law school, it naturally attracts many cutthroat assholes) BUT you know what? I and many many others loved this professor. He was like a grandpa! And every time he had a block I was rooting for him, and honestly I didn’t even pay that much attention to it because I was so focused on the content. Most kids were like me in the classroom. It’s not YOUR fault people act like assholes to you. They unfortunately are judgmental and sadly we can’t do anything about that. Think how sad life is when you just judge everyone so negatively. That said, there are good people out there who value *you* and what you can bring to the table, just do everything you can, one day at a time.
