What would you do if you discover that your son handles his stuttering with prescription pills?

What would you do if you discover that your son handles his stuttering with prescription pills? I am not a minor anymore, but since like 4 years ago I have been using a small dose of a benzodiazepine to decrease my stuttering in special situations, such as presentations, school speeches, oral exams... Never got addicted and never got caught. But I wonder what would have happened if they had caught me and I had explained why I use them Force me to throw the pills to the trash and not listen to my explanation? Allow me to keep taking using them under their strict supervision? Confiscate them but then talk with a psychologist trying to get me a valid prescription or another solution? As a parent, what would you do in this situation?
