What you describe is pretty typical for me. I stutter bad with some people or in some situations, and then not as bad or at all otherwise. The people or situations aren't always similar either, and can change or flip too. I think its about your anticipated outcome and how you're mentally or physically preparing/compensating/feeling about it that affects your stuttering.
