I appreciate your perspective...I have a super smart and funny 10 year old with a stutter. An assignment at school requires here to speak in front of 20+ people. She works with a speech pathologist. It has been suggested that we speak to her teacher and request accommodations to be made (ie) speaking to an audience of only 2-4 people. I have no experience in this area... I can't decide if handling it this way is the answer. I don't want her to "take the easy way out" but I also don't want to force this if it's not reasonable to ask this of her . I believe we all have challenges that are to be conquered, but not being someone who stutters myself I can't relate... any thoughts?
