Stuttering is a vicious cycle. You stutter because you know you’re gonna stutter, and you know you’re gonna stutter because you stutter. The expectation of stuttering, mixed with the fear of being judged is what makes you stutter in front of others. That’s why we stutterers have no problem talking to ourselves or animals fluently. It’s fucked how we understand this and continue to stutter, it’s really all in our minds. One day, I hope I trigger something in my brain to break the cycle, and can finally just fucking say the sentence I know I can and want to say fluently.
