I often think back to a presentation I had to give at university during a group exam. There were four of us in the group, and I was the one who was the most prepared and had written most of our assignment. My part of the presentation was supposed to last seven minutes, but because of my stutter, it took me 15 minutes. When I finished, there was an awkward silence. And I think I had an out of body experience-it was so painful. But when I think back on it today, I feel proud. Proud that I did it. Just imagine this: If you asked someone who doesn't stutter to give a presentation without being able to pronounce words starting with T-sounds or H-sounds, and without being able to say their own name, how many would say yes? Stuttering is a handicap, and it's difficult to live with. But be proud of what you did, knowing your difficulties. You are an example to others who stutter.
