Lee is wonderful and totally gets it. You're lucky to have had her as a professor. Counseling is scary and yes you might make mistakes, but you will learn and get better. The main points I'd say are teaching these kids that it's ok to stutter. They may speak differently or take longer to say things but that's not their fault and there's nothing wrong with it, we're all different. Kids (& adults) do develop bad coping strategies (secondaries) so behaviors that are unhelpful to stuttering is something good to work on. I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself. Talk to the kids, see what they need, help them feel comfortable to be themselves (stuttering or not) and maybe even self advocate.
