1. It is what it is. I guess I accepted it by continuing to speak and putting myself in situations where I stuttered - phone calls, group settings, conversations with my dad. Went to a speech therapist for a couple sessions. 2. Most of the time acceptance and genuine change comes when you're just fed up with it. You've had enough and aren't going to take it anymore. 3. I'm much more comfortable speaking now that my stutter is next to gone. Sometimes I still stutter but I'll just side-step it using synonyms or tricks I learned from my speech therapist. If I'm speaking to family or close friends I'll mention that it's a word I usually get stuck on and make myself say it, no matter how long it takes.
