it's always good to try and get some sort of grip on your own stutter, to get acquainted with yourself that way. i imagine there are numerous ways of representing it, in terms that make sense to the stutterer. i think it's noteworthy how you picture your stutter: >If I stutter, then I have to start at the very bottom this would make each of your stutter instances a complete failure. i don't think that's healthy. consider each stutter a challenge, and the success is coming out on the other side of it. no need to "start over", since you never really stopped (communication is ongoing, after all). also, if you're looking for a "cure", i'm not sure you're going about it the right way. "confidence" doesn't magically remove stuttering. depending on your case, there'd be certain work (speech therapy) you could do to try and control your stutter.
