Absolutely this. For your sake, explain to them about the disability so you can protect yourself. As someone who also stutters, sometimes we just want to mask our stutter so people don’t know we have it in a weird attempt to avoid embarrassment or shame. What I've learned is that making our stutter known to people before hand can do wonders for your life. People then realize that you're not just shy or stumped trying to think of something to say and tend to judge your ability less on your speech and more on your competency with subject material. Just understand that it’s okay to stutter and I’m sorry this was so painful for you. Everything is gonna be okay OP. We love and accept you, stutter and all so it's time to start working on accepting and loving yourself. <3 Edited for spelling errors and wording.
