I struggle with blocks too! That’s my biggest hurdle. Propranolol helps me significantly with them during presentations. For your purposes, I would try propranolol because you can take it one time and have it work. The side effects are minimal and it doesn’t have to be taken daily. But you should discuss with your doctor and ensure you have no contraindications. SSRIs are a bigger discussion with your doctor to see if you qualify for them, but not all doctors will likely be aware of the benefits of SSRIs in the stuttering population. Additionally, they have to be taken daily for 4 to 6 weeks to work.
