There was a survey done on this subreddit about 3 months ago through Michigan State University, it was interesting. I contacted the guy directly and he was extremely nice and answered a lot of my questions about stuttering I always had. Ok these are my tips If you're going to make a phone call, write down what you are going to say. If you have too you can just read it. Maybe break it up by syllables if that helps? When I speak I will tap my forefinger to my thumb for each syllable, this helps me remain steady in my speech. People will look it for a sec and then usually shrug their shoulders and ignore it. Maybe in professional settings tap your foot to each word? This takes some practice though. Before you speak try to exhale a little and then talk. It helps me ”loosen” up because maybe something is already coming out if my mouth..? Have a sense of humor about it? Some people are just asses Don't buy a speecheasy device. It costs like 5k and at first its great, but then your brain adapts to it and it starts ignoring it and your back where you started just minus 5k. A speecheasy device is like a hearing-aide. It fits in your ear and it works by playing your voice back at a slight delay and a higher pitch. You hear an echo of your voice and somehow that helps. Maybe see if there is a support group in your area for people that stutter? You sound like you've never met anyone else that has stuttered and maybe that would help you? Or do what I did, get thrown into a psych ward and put on lots of psych meds and for some reason, my stuttering has gone mostly away. I'm still on the same meds, kinda afraid that if I stop one my stuttering will come back. Feel free to PM if you have any questions I wish you the best, my friend.
