Have you used antipsychotics, and did they work (wrt stuttering)? Of all the research that has been conducted to explore the pharmacological treatment of stuttering, antipsychotics have proven to be thet sole group of medication that are effective (i.e. significant difference between treated and control groups). The rationale is that people who stutter are more error-prone in their speech compared to non-pws (it is thought this is because pws have a distorted ratio of D1 and D2 (dopamine) receptors), and antipsychotics reduce this error-proneness, which in time should lead to fewer stuttering. A big con, however, is that these drugs carry quite some potential severe and debilitating side-effects (even with low doses used for stuttering). There are quite some threads on this subreddit with regards to medication, but the answers remain anecdotal and sparse. So, have you used antipsychotics before (with the specific intent of reducing stuttering) and did they help you? If so, please elaborate. [View Poll](https://www.reddit.com/poll/1cf4ueu)
