I was too young to realize it at first, but once I hit about 17 I started noticing that I wasn't getting any benefit out of treatment. Tried to pass that along to the therapist, didn't get any positive feedback, so I moved on. I've actually had more success from 'self-help' type articles and books than I have from a therapist. I'm more than willing to give therapy another shot, but since speech therapy isn't covered by insurance (at least my insurance), it probably won't happen for a while. I like the idea of intensive therapy, where you spend two or three weeks with a group of other stutterers, but again, money is a factor.
