Stuttering during role call So I’m on a sports team and during our races we have to travel to other states on team buses, and to make sure that everyone is in the bus each time they write a number on our hands that we have to say aloud during role call. When i did it the first trip around the number that i got i could say it fine for the most part but on the second trip i couldn’t say it and i could hear people laughing and asking where i was because i couldn’t get the damn number out. This happened a few more times but each time i was eventually able to get it out but it just took me more time than everyone else. After that experience i was very nervous about even going to the next race just because of the role calling number thing but i did end up going. On the next/third one the girl that was assigning numbers said “are we gonna say our number this time?” and holy shit i was heated but i just ignored her and headed onto the bus. This time around for this trip i used a bunch of techniques like breathing, thinking about what i needed to say and starting to say my number before i actually needed to so i could get it out on time and it worked out for me. I just wanted to make this post sharing my recent experience and letting you know that you’re not alone.
