reminds me of a joke about a man on a boat, with a different ending. a man was on a boat which broke down. he prayed that he be saved. after a few years he died. and he meets God. God: "so you have a question?" man: "you didn't save me!" God: "that's not a question. ask me about Many Worlds Inter-" man: "that's not my question. I was alone on a broken boat. I prayed, ate bad fish, drank my own, you know, for two days. And finally I saw a large ship." God: "I am who sent that ship." man: "are you who broke my boat?" God: "idk. secretary! next person!" man: "addiction was killing me! you didn't sa-" angels drag the man away. next person is brought. next person: "hi, I'm Jane. are you-" God: "I am who exists." Jane: "no I was gonna ask, are you the God of Abrahamic religions?" God: "idk. give me another question. ask me about Many Worlds Interpre-" Jane: "I wanted to ask that too!" God: "ask me about that and you will disintegrate." Jane: "oh.... let me think... there was a guy I saved. I was a captain of a ship and someone spotted a man on a broken boat." God: "I am who sent him. it was your destiny to become the famous captain who saved a man, while other captains ignored him cuz they hate people on boats coming to their countries. Congratulations. You are the only captain who will make it to heaven." Jane: "is it true that he became an addict and wasted his life? or was it just media propaganda?" God: "what matters is you gave him a chance. what he did with his life is up to his free will. ask me if free will is real and-" Jane: "is it real?" God: "and you will disintegrate." Jane: "wait. you said you sent him. how does that work. did you-" God: "next person!"
