I've had speech therapy since I was 4, up until I graduated H.S. In all fairness, I still stutter. It was never that bad, but it's not gone. I always saw it as something I had to do. I could never get out of it and it made me feel odd at times. I was an honor student and being pulled out of classes was annoying. Yeah they taught me how the basic rules, slow down, think about what you're going to say, don't change words if you're stuck, but it also helped me when I was younger when I felt I was weird. Like I wasn't alone at times, but also. Annoying. I liked my therapist, but I can't really say that it helped me in terms of my stutter. What really helped was me presenting my posters as scientific conferences. I would stutter, but it eventually got better. Granted, I practiced like crazy, but it helped I guess. That or I memorized all possible answers so I didn't have to think on the spot. Actually to be fair, if I'm free-styling a talk, I do stutter a lot more.....hmm
