Previously none of them have, but in my current story yes the main character does. Basically it's about a guy with a stutter in a world where so much of the tech is based on voice commands, and people at the lower tiers of subscriptions for the tech are given far less time to order things, as well they don't speak clearly enough the automated voice will just speak over them saying, "Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. Please state your request clearly and I'd be more than happy to help." But there are also AI implants that people can get that can recommend what to say to get the optimal response in social situations, and the highest tier of implant can even speak for you. But then it just ends up being two people repeating corporate slogans to each other while their AI implants tell them they're being so funny and charismatic. So when my character wins this highest tier of implant in a *totally not rigged sweepstakes* it seems amazing at first since the AI can talk totally fluently for him, and it makes his life better at first, but things quickly go real bad, real fast. Basically this story is both a therapy session for myself in that (like usual with writing) I can fully express myself in exactly the way that I want. But it's also an exploration of my own experience with a stutter, how disability "cures" are often framed in media, as well as how fucking annoying it is to have an Alexa turn all my lights on at 3am to do an update and then refuse to turn them off on the first five requests because I stuttered while saying "LIGHTS OFF"
