For the few that cannot work, I agree those stutterers should get benefits so they can afford to live. If it’s only because you don’t want the chance of someone mocking you at work, that’s not really a convincing argument for benefits. That’s an HR issue dealt with at the work site. I believe speech therapy should be free or heavily subsidized. Im from Canada and I got my speech therapy through public school, for free! I don’t know what my life would look like if that service wasn’t available. For adults who never got therapy as kids, colleges should offer it like they do English-language upgrading. We aren’t the only people who need speech therapy, a lot of conditions do.
