The group interview Hi, lifelong stutterer here. I had a unique job interview today. Got there, and the woman checking us in said something about a "group interview." It didn't quite register at first. Then she called me and the three other applicants into a room, and I realized what she meant. It was us four applicants and three interviewers. We were all going to be interviewed at once. That many people made me uncomfortable, and I really wanted to get the hell out of there. Blocked on my name to start off- brutal stuff. After that we all answered a bunch of standard job interview-type questions. Normally I don't stutter that overtly, but with six people listening to me, I blocked noticeably throughout all of my answers. The looks from the people around me were, as always, interesting. I'm not sure I'll ever be comfortable with the facial expressions of first-time listeners. In any case, I got through it. As awful as this experience felt, this is one of those situations you can't avoid. I'm glad I went. We'll see if I get the job. Thanks for reading.
