The post explains that both stuttering and OCD have triggers, attachments and a compulsion. A trigger could be stuttering anticipation, attachment could that you feel bothered about the anticipation (or another response) and the compulsion is the paralysis of the speech muscles resulting in a **speech block**. In other words, our compulsion that leads to a **speech block** could be, that we stop moving our tongue, jaw, laryngeal and respiratory muscles. Conclusion, the trigger leads to overreacting/overthinking and then this interrupts us from deciding to move our speech muscles, and this then leads to not sending command signals to the speech muscles resulting in a **speech block** Non-stutterers and 80% of people that outgrew stuttering also overreact and overthink, after all it's a human trait. So, why don't they **block** when they overreact or overthink, in your opinion?
