Just because stutterers don’t stutter along doesn’t eliminate the fact that there is definitely a neurological component in it. Stuttering is a very inconsistent and fluctuating disorder, so of course some will stutter less in some situations while others will stutter more. Same with other disorders like asthma, epilepsy, allergies, etc. There’s already so much misinformation about stuttering out there, and it’s such a misunderstood disorder. We don’t need any more stigma being added. If a person with seasonal allergies has less reactions in a certain environment, that doesn’t mean it’s mental. Same with stuttering.
