I go through this same thing every now and then. Lately, I've realised that these blocks have more to do with being socially anxious than simply stutter. I become too self conscious when someone asks my name, because it triggers memories of when I got stuck in a similar situation in the past. I'm still figuring it out tho. But couple of things have worked occasionally. 1. Taking a deep breath in before speaking out 2. Speaking in full sentences like, 'My name is...' 3. Using filler words like ummm, ahhh 4. Forcing a wide smile before speaking out Deep breathing will help manage speech-breathing coordination as well as helping you calm down. From my experience, social anxiety masked under a stutter is extremely difficult to identfy & work on. If you get over the social anxiety, I'm sure the stutter will subside.
