Do you stutter when speaking foreign languages? Hi guys, I know we're not allowed to give out personal information so I'll keep it as vague as possible. I've been living abroad for the past 10 years and English is not my native language, though I pretty much speak English just as fluently. I'm also fluent in Japanese and Korean, and I basically have to speak in those 3 languages for 99.9% of the time. At work I mainly use Japanese and English, and I noticed something quite odd: I don't stutter much when I speak Japanese, but I stutter a lot when I speak in either English or my native language (Italian). Sometimes when I'm talking to native English speakers they think it's just my English being poor, when in fact it's just my stuttering holding me back. It's really frustrating. Did anyone else notice less stuttering when speaking other languages as well?
