I'm 27 and I have overcame my stammer to some extent. I had a stammer since I was 5. Now I've taken part in speech competitions, delivered various presentations to great audiences. If I can do it, you can do it too. What I did was. 1. #Reading aloud. I could feel prominent improvement in my speech right away after reading out aloud. It's does help. Make it a routine. Read aloud for 30 mins at least. 2. #Don't forget to breath Stammering occurs when we forget to breath. Once you feel like a 'block' is coming, wait. Take your breath and then start speaking. You'll see a noticeable difference. 3. #Build confidence, step out of your comfort zone Once you'll start gaining confidence on your speech by reading aloud and having control over your breathing. Get into uncomfortable scenarios. Face your fears. Get out of your comfort zone. Because if you keep avoiding it, you will never overcome it 4. #Try to be okay with your Stammer Stammer is something that is not my control, neither I wished I had it. So I try to be okay with it. It's not my problem that the other person can't interpret whatever I'm talking about. 5. #Try not to hide it I've noticed when I try to hide it I stammer even more so I don't hide it anymore. Best of luck mate with your journey. And never give up!!
