I always just say upfront I have a stutter. It helps in most situations, but I've travelled a bit and I've found US immigration are particularly blunt and off-putting. I Think they are trained to make people fell uneasy and maybe make guilty people over react and act strangely. Unfortunately stuttering probably registers as suspicious to them. I wouldn't take it personally. Just another thing we have to deal with.
