Hi, first of all, accept your stuttering, there is nothing wrong with it. It took me 20 years to realize that my stutter is not holding me back. It is the way I was dealing with my stuttering that was holding me back. It is easy to blame your stuttering of everything that isn't going your way in your life. A bit harsh ? Yes ! but think about it, can some of it be true ? And yes, it may be more difficult to make new friends and spontaniously talk to people you don't know. Explain to them you have a stutter, you will avoid a situation where you and the other person is feeling uncomfortable. If that happens there will be "tension in your voice" and your stutter will increase. By addressing the stuttering you will both feel more comfortable and you stutter will decrease. It may be a hard nut to crack, but I want you to think if there are any positive sides of your stuttering. (i'm sure their are, it took me months to figure that out myself) I too had this fase of depression. You CAN overcome this. Embrace your stuttering, be proud of who you are. Go to specialized speech therapy. But whatever you do, dont be a victim of your stutter. Did I completly overcome my stutter ? No, but i did accept it and as result people accept me and my speech defect. That was the key to overcome this depression fase, and as a result my speech improved. Note : English bad, no speak it good, bad spelling ;-)
