Hello! As a fellow stutterer and hopefully future SLP, I think that fluency shaping techniques can be very helpful in your situation but I have a feeling that you might have to deal with that dark side of stuttering due to avoidance. Talking about your stammer and becoming accepting of it can make a great improvement on your speech and how you feel about yourself. Being open about your stammer and letting others know that you happened to stutter can take off the pressure of trying not to stutter. The more you avoid, the more anxious you become, the less you are going to remember and put into practice any fluency techniques you learn. I think you should try to find information from your local university clinic or private SLP and see how they can help you. But you have to let them know that avoidance is your main problem right now and hopefully they can help you with that side of speech dysfluency.
