I had one in like 2005-6. It was pretty annoying to have it in, could barely hear other people in regular conversation. In a crowded area it was absolutely useless because of noise. Maybe if there was a smartphone app to adjust levels or sensitivity, that would have been useful... However it did help with my speech, in situations like when I had to present a project to my class or something. It gave me confidence and helped me slow down and listen to myself when I spoke. I eventually outgrew it though, stopped using it in college. I still stutter, but I don't miss having it in my ear all day
