Tell the company's HR department that you have a stutter before your interview. They'll let the interviewer know and when you stutter during your interview it will be less of a stressful moment because everybody knows it's coming. You'll actually be doing the company a favour by doing this. I used to hire a lot of people (IT) and you'd be surprised at how difficult it is for interviewers. The job isn't to grill and stress out interviewees, the job is to make interviewees relax enough so we can see the real skill and talents behind the person. We all know interviews are stressful and that stress makes everything difficult for not only interviewees but interviewers as well. Don't forget that the people interviewing you have been in your shoes once; nervous and stressed, and they're not trying to catch you out or make life difficult for you, they're just assessing your skill level, your experience and if you are a 'good fit' for the role. I stuttered like crazy all through every interview I've ever had and still got hired for many IT roles for a long career. You can do the same. Be sure to build your self-confidence up before the interview: remember your skills, your good grades, the good things you've done for others in your life and so on. Hold that confidence with you during your interview.# And don't forget to ask them questions about the role and the company. But seriously, email the interviewing HR team right now to tell them you have a stutter. You'll be doing them and yourself a big favour. Good luck!
