The biggest fear for any stutterer is having to speak up in huge moments. How are we expected to say "Will you marry me?", let alone ask a girl out? How are we meant to introduce ourselves in interviews? How are we meant to talk for ourselves when our parents are no longer by your side? I agree with you. When I was a kid I used to brush it aside, "don't worry it'll get better by the time I mature" now reality has hit. That's why you yourself now need to treat it as a problem you can fix not one that will just get better. It is pretty depressing but that's just who we are, really.. nothing can change that. Best thing you can do is keep trying and only associate yourself with people who are comfortable with your stutter.
