The best advice I can give to you, assuming you are in school, is to inform your teachers and as many classmates as you can. Once you know that everyone is aware you have a stutter, it can reduce your stress. When people *don't* know you have a stutter, it's easy to get nervous and embarrassed because people will be confused. Most people your age/young teenagers have no clue what a stutter is. Teach them. Another thing to remember is that the only way to get rid of a stutter, is to keep stuttering. You have to learn as much about your own stutter as you can. Once you know how it works, where it begins in your throat/mouth, etc, you can work backwards and try to prevent blocks. At the end of the day, I do recommend you try and get to a speech therapist. Try whatever methods they recommend. It can't hurt to try as much as you can. There are various different types of therapies that can have great effects. It's worth giving anything a shot. Good luck! And remember that any time you stutter, you are simultaneously educating the people around you, and that's important.
