Loneliness because of stutter Hey guys! I am glad to have found this subreddit. I have never spoken to others with speech impediments so I thought I would write my thoughts here and have a conversation with others that feel the same. It’s always been impossible for me to find friends. For context, I am a 22 year old female. Most people avoid me because my stuttering is annoying and nobody wants to be friends with someone they can’t understand. I’ve gotten used to this treatment so now when someone DOES approach me, I assume they’re only doing it as a charity case. With my family, I can always see annoyance in their expressions when I speak. It’s just so miserably lonely. I can’t imagine myself ever forming a bond with someone because communication is ESSENTIAL. And if I can’t even do that…idk. I’m just rambling but hoping others feel the same. Hopefully some people have been able to overcome this?
