>As far as people confident on the third day, this isn't an all too uncommon experience whenever people are in such a supportive environment and are exposed to a new and exciting program. That is true, however you have to keep in mind this is in the city, done on a very busy street. It is very much one of the most intimidating things you can ever do; talking to complete strangers and having all eyes and ears on you. >My big thing is, i just can't get past the costal breathing. One of my biggest hangups with therapy programs is when they want me to change the way I speak. Im going to assume Mcguire doesn't want to change how you talk, but the costal breathing technique which they recommend you use as much as you can (i assume) is just wayyyy too bizarre for me. How did you get comfortable with it, or was it not that big of a deal to you? I wouldn't call it therapy, noone is out to "cure" you of your own stammer, you're working on it. Much like an athlete of some sort. It feels very weird at first, but after you've done it for several hours it actually becomes very natural. It's definitely not comfortable if you aren't doing it right, I can see that. But you're costal breathing from morning till noon for 4 days, so you learn how to do it properly and it doesn't feel unnatural. I'm costal breathing almost out of habit right now, sitting infront of the computer. If you're worried about it looking weird too, then it isn't done right. The coaches speak completely fluent, and Dave is just amazing to listen to. He's such an eloquent speaker.
