I use techniques which I learned on the McGuire programme. It involves costal breathing which is deep breathing, stuttering on purpose, voice projection, speaking clearly and a lot of other psychological techniques. It gives control and helps you to learn acceptance rather than fluency. Its made me much happier in life. I used to use a lot of fluency shaping techniques and it came to the point in which my whole life became focused on fluency. You know what? It never came. Putting saying what you want to say clearly above fluency is the main technique though. I and I know a few others would definitely recommend this programme, you can also just buy the book 'Beyond stuttering' by Dave McGuire if you're not interested in going to a course (although I would highly recommend it) which goes through most of the techniques and psychological side.
