Embarrassed at a Starbucks. I was ordering a drink at a Starbucks yesterday. The girl behind the counter asks my name and of course I stutter on my own name. "My name's Sssssss...ugh sorry lemme try that again. Shmooshy! Ha ha." (obviously not my actual name but it does start with S.) I try and laugh it off and she laughs too. Then she takes my drink cup and writes "Ssssssssmooshy" on the side of it. I felt my face get hot. All I could think to say was "oh god stop. Please don't do that." She said "I was just kidding!" and scratched it out. I could have said "I have a speech impediment" or something similar to educate her, but I was just so depressed and embarrassed. I just sat down with my drink and tried not to get upset. I just needed to tell somebody, and you guys will get it. I like to think that stuttering has no real effect on me, but damn. It gets me every once in a while.
