Hey, I posted 2 years ago something similar. I had fully fluent speech for 1 week after a trip to amsterdam where I dabbled in shrooms. On the shroom trip I was beating myself up so much about stuttering. 2 days after I tried to breathe as if smoothly at the transition between inhale and exhale - I mean keeping the transition as smooth as possible, without exhaling more forcefully. The concept in my head was that when I get speech blocks, I close my throat as i try say a word and that's why nothing comes out. So I tried to unlearn this closing of my throat by always focusing on breathing smoothly and never closing my throat. I don't lie when I say I was 100% fluent for the week, I could say anything in groups, i could tell jokes the whole lot. But after a week I woke up on a sunday morning and it was suddenly gone. I don't know why (I speculate it's because I took MDMA too and my speech is generally much better for a while after, maybe due to low serotonin). I haven't really tried this since because I was so distraught about it and it takes a lot of focus to control your breathing all day. Also I believe the best method is to accept the stutter not suppress it. Do you think your trumpet breathing is similar to this smooth breathing I speak of?
