I just try to have the mentality that I'm doing my best, and if my best isn't good enough for some people it's no skin off my back. I struggle at times with making connections. I have a few close friends who "get me", and who I feel comfortable around. I think it's generally better to speak your mind, even if it takes you longer to do so. You're not doing anything wrong by stuttering, and people will wait if they're polite. If not, don't worry about it because it's their problem, not yours. I feel your struggle, I wish you all the hope in the world that you can come to terms with your disfluencies.
