Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it'll happen again just like you'll mess up during a performance if you move on to perform. I'm 35 and pretty sure I still stutter on a day to day basis, and I have to talk for my job. Eventually you learn that most people don't care, and some don't even know you stutter. When I introduce myself to someone I say "hi, my name is JoeOutrage. Just so you know, I have a speech impediment that causes me to stutter: if it happens, I just ask for your patience!" and then I move on with my presentations. Sometimes I stutter, sometimes I full on block and run out of breath, but 9 times out of 10 I am met with patience and compassion. The other 1 time out of 10? That person's an asshole and was looking to pick on anyone for anything they could find. Fuck them.
