Reading out loud before you go to an event.

Reading out loud before you go to an event. Before I go to an event (birthday/meeting/whatever) I read out loud for a while in my room, either out of a book or just a website on my PC. I'll do this 15-30 minutes and then stop. I have noticed that this usually helps me with my fluency during the event. Even if my stuttering is just 5% less than usual, it's a good thing right? I think the reason for it is that I naturally get a bit tense knowing that I'm going outside and will likely talk to people so reading out loud is sort of an exercise to ''warm my body up''. If I don't do that I notice that I'm having a hard time at the beginning of the events.
