" valsalva maneuver (your core/diaphragm gets tight, resulting in a blockage of airflow" I agree that some PWS tighten the diaphragm to block the airflow. In my experience, I don't have an issue with this. In my experience whenever I use diaphragmatic breathing (which I learned in therapy), then I'm still unable to move articulators. Argument: because I maintained my reason to stop moving articulators.
