Stutterers on TV

Stutterers on TV I was just watching Dragon’s Den (Shark Tank in the USA) and a stutterer was on trying to get an investment. It was pretty clear that he had a stutter as soon as he started talking, to me anyway. Though is it was not severe and he was speaking slowly and managing his breathing very well. Nothing was said for a while, then he blocked on a couple of numbers and went on to explain that he had a stutter. The dragons were super chill and Deborah Meaden took a lead to say there was no need to explain and that he had nothing to worry about. The pitch continued like all others do. After they were gone, Deborah made a point of saying how good and courageous he was to come out and pitch with a stutter. I thought it was all handled very well but a part of me wished nothing was said of it. That’s his voice. That’s how he talked. I know he initiated the conversation about it and that’s fine. I’m not against how it was done at all and it was very cool of Deborah to say he was courageous. I just thought it would be nice to see a stutterer on TV and for nothing to be said. What does everyone else think about this? Would you rather it stated clearly and for a discussion to take place about stuttering or would you like to see it just accepted and for no comment to be passed whatsoever. Or does anyone else have stories about stuttering on TV?
