I legitimately didn't know that I had a stutter until I was around 11 years old. For context, I had been going to speech classes on and off for years at that point and I didn't know why. I honestly thought it was some club or something because a lot what we did was fun like playing board games. It wasn't until I was around 11 that was informed that I may have had a stutter when the speech therapist told me to go back to class because, ironically, she didn't think I actually had one. Update from more than a decade later: I do, I definitely have a stutter. It just baffles me that no one had bothered to tell me why might have needed speech therapy or that I had a problem until right then and there. O_o
