If I talk to somebody that doesn't know, I'll let them know just so they're not surprised. Makes sense, since most people haven't encountered somebody who stutters, so the first time they do they might not be focussing on what exactly you're saying. Give them a heads up and they'll likely try to listen past it as best they can
